Ipamorelin Canada — RUO Pentapeptide Identity Notes (Not Stocked)
Ipamorelin as a five-residue identity record: sequence with non-coded and D-amino acids, CAS, formula, mass, and what a standard certificate can and cannot confirm. Not stocked. RUO, 21+.
Hermetica Research Labs does not currently stock ipamorelin. There is no ipamorelin product page, lot or certificate of analysis on this site, and nothing on this page is an offer to sell ipamorelin. This page describes how ipamorelin is identified on paper, for laboratories documenting material from another supplier. It covers structure, labels and certificates and does not discuss any use in humans or animals.

This composition matters for documentation. A short peptide made mostly of standard L-amino acids can be checked reasonably well by mass and HPLC alone. Ipamorelin cannot, for two reasons set out below.
What a standard certificate can and cannot confirm
Mass confirms composition, not configuration. A mass result near 711.9 Da shows the right atoms are present. It cannot show whether residues 3 and 4 are in the D-configuration, because D- and L-forms have identical masses. A version made with L-Phe at position 4 would pass a mass check.
Ordinary HPLC may not separate stereoisomers. A purity figure from a standard reversed-phase method may not resolve a diastereomer from the intended compound. Chiral analysis, or a supplier statement on stereochemical purity, is the record that addresses this.
The amide is a small difference. The free-acid form of the same sequence is about 1 Da heavier. High-resolution mass data is needed to tell them apart.
When filing an ipamorelin certificate, note which of these points it addresses and which it leaves open. A certificate that reports only "purity 99%" without method, mass or stereochemistry documents less than the number suggests. The HPLC purity notes explain what a purity figure does and does not describe.
Ipamorelin in blends
Ipamorelin is frequently sold pre-mixed with CJC-1295. A blend needs per-component masses on the label and a certificate that identifies each component separately. See the CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin blend notes.
Receiving record
- Compound name, fill mass and lot as printed on the vial.
- CAS 170851-70-4 or the supplier's explanation of a different number.
- Certificate issuer, test or accession number, and confirmation on the issuer's own system.
- Reported mass, purity method, and any statement on stereochemistry.
- Supplier storage statement.
- A note that the material is an in-vitro laboratory reagent.
Compared with peptides Hermetica does stock
The catalogue's shortest peptides are GHK-Cu (the tripeptide Gly-His-Lys, about 340.4 Da before copper binding) and Epitalon (four coded residues, ~390.35 Da). Both are built from standard L-amino acids, which is one reason their identity records are simpler. Their documentation is on the GHK-Cu 50mg and Epitalon 10mg product pages.
Why stereochemistry belongs in the file
Two of ipamorelin's five residues are deliberately in the D-configuration. If either were made in the L-form by mistake, the result would be a different compound with exactly the same formula and mass. That is why a complete ipamorelin record says something about stereochemistry, even if only that the certificate does not address it. For most of the peptides in the Hermetica catalogue, which are built from standard L-amino acids, the same question does not arise in the same way.
Questions to put to a supplier
- Does the certificate include any chiral or stereochemical analysis, or a statement on D-residue configuration?
- Is the C-terminus amidated, as in the reference compound?
- Which salt form is supplied, and how does it affect the stated fill mass?
- Is net peptide content reported in addition to HPLC purity?
- Does the lot on the certificate match the vial, and can the test number be checked with the issuing laboratory?
Write the answers into the receiving file. An unanswered question is worth recording as such, because it shows exactly what the documentation does not cover.
What is ipamorelin?
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide amide, Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2. It is catalogued as a growth hormone secretagogue-receptor ligand and is structurally unrelated to the GHRH-derived peptides such as sermorelin, CJC-1295 and tesamorelin: it is five residues long rather than 29 or 44. Three of its five residues are non-standard (Aib, D-2-naphthylalanine and D-phenylalanine), so a certificate that confirms only the intact mass cannot tell a correct product from one with the wrong stereochemistry. That is the key point for any ipamorelin peptide record.
| Ipamorelin peptide at a glance | Reference value |
|---|---|
| Length | 5 residues, C-terminal amide |
| Non-standard residues | Aib (pos. 1), D-2-Nal (pos. 3), D-Phe (pos. 4) |
| CAS | 170851-70-4 |
| Approx. mass | ~711.9 Da |
| Common blend partner | CJC-1295 (see CJC-1295 / ipamorelin notes) |
Ipamorelin in Canada: catalogue status
Hermetica does not stock ipamorelin today, so there is no ipamorelin price, SKU or certificate on this site. If a line is added it will have its own product page and lot certificate, linked from here and from the catalogue. Canadian laboratories documenting ipamorelin from another source can pair this page with the peptide COA checklist for Canada.
